Squirrel survives my rescue"

Josh Saffer, staff writer for the North Raleigh News, submitted an article about a 2 week old squirrel he rescued from his yard and the next day brought to me to rehabilitate.

This little 2 week old squirrel (see article picture) was obviously orphaned and had been without his mother for several days. You can easily see the muscle wasting that had occurred before he was found as his little body was nothing but skin and bones.

I'm pleased to say, the little guy, nicked name The Celeb, has gained weight and is growing at a steady pace. His eyes just opened today. He has two new "brothers" who were also orphaned this past week. The 3, in addition to any other new siblings that come this way, will be released sometime in May.
